Each year over the Labor Day Weekend GBSHHA members meet at a site where the Georgia Brigade was engaged. For lack of a better definition, we call these meetings a Congress. The first Congress was held at the Waverly Hotel in Marietta, Georgia in 2002. The first location was very appropriate because it was held in Cobb County, the site of Camp McDonald where the Georgia Brigade consisting of the 40th, 41st, 42nd, 43rd, and 52nd Georgia infantry regiments were formed in the Spring of 1862.
